Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
  • Understand the indications for microcannula use with dermal fillers
  •   Learn techniques to optimally inject anatomic sites with a range of microcannula sizes

  • Incorporate the use of microcannulas, where indicated, into dermal filler practice
BRING WITH YOU TO THE COURSE:
  • PRODUCTS FOR INJECTION – you will be responsible to bring your dermal fillers for injection.
  • EXISTING PATIENT CHARTS – The clinician must provide their own training models, approved for such services, complete patient charts with consent forms, and develop a treatment plan with post care support. Note* Treatment plan can reflect the need for changes per recommendations at IEE training
  • ANESTHETIC MEDICATIONS (see list below)
    • Injectable: Lidocaine HCL 1% or 2% with Epinephrine 1:100,000 USP – 50ml vial
    • Injectable: Lidocaine HCL 1% or 2% plain (10mg/ml) USP – 50 ml vial
    • Topical: Please bring a one-ounce jar of BLT (Benzocaine 20%, Lidocaine 6%, Tetracaine 4% topical cream) which is available at various compounding pharmacies
  • CAMERA FOR PRE INJECTION PHOTOS – (unless photos have been taken at your office, prior to course)
  • ONE PRACTICE PATIENT/MODEL – for Dermal Filler injections (see instructions below)
IIE WILL PROVIDE:
  • COURSE MANUAL (Distributed at the beginning of the course)
  • ALL MEDICAL SUPPLIES (i.e. gloves, gauzes, syringes, cannulas etc.)
PATIENT MODEL SELECTION INSTRUCTIONS: Select ONLY ONE practice patient/model for Dermal Filler hands-on according to the instructions listed below.  Only pre-registered persons will be allowed entrance to lecture; all others, including “practice patients” will be asked to wait outside of the lecture room.
  • Please secure a patient model appropriate for dermal filler injection.
  • Your patient model should arrive according to the time assigned (listed in the confirmation packet).
  • Each practitioner is allotted 45 minutes for their hands-on instruction. Note: Your hands-on experience may not include every site listed due to time limitations or appropriateness of patient model for site selection; however you will most likely be able to observe all sites of injection by other attending practitioners. The course instructor will assist in determining appropriateness of patient model for treatment site selection.
The choice of injection sites are listed on the next page.  Select a patient according to the site(s) you wish to receive instruction on. Do Not Schedule Patients:

  2. If pregnant or nursing
